Dain (the "app") lets you chat and talk with an AI character. This page explains what the app collects, why, and how to delete it.
The app does not collect your name, email, or phone number. On first launch a random anonymous identifier is created and stored in your device's iCloud Keychain. The server keeps only that identifier and a SHA-256 hash of its secret — it never knows the secret itself.
| Data | Purpose | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Chat messages (text) | Generating replies, showing history | Stored on our server (Supabase, Seoul region) |
| Facts the character remembers (cards & summary) | Conversation continuity ("memory") | View, edit, or delete them under Settings → Memories |
| Call transcripts (text) | So later conversations remember your calls | Audio itself is never stored |
| Descriptions of photos you send | So the character can react to photos | Photo pixels are never stored on the server. They are discarded right after recognition; only a short text description remains in the chat history |
| Speech style, language, what she calls you | Keeping the conversation consistent | |
| Time zone | Time-aware conversation, respecting quiet hours | |
| Push token (optional) | Notifications when she messages first | Only if you allow notifications |
| Subscription status | Verifying access | Payments are handled by Apple; the app never sees card details |
| Hash of your IP at sign-up | Preventing automated abuse (mass sign-ups) | The raw IP is never stored; the hash is deleted after 1 day |
| Apple DeviceCheck flag | Prevents repeatedly claiming the free allowance by deleting and reinstalling the app | Reads and writes only the 2 bits Apple stores per device. We do not collect a device serial or advertising identifier, and we never use this flag to identify you or link it to other data |
If the app detects signs of suicide or self-harm risk in a conversation, it shows verified helpline contacts. This detection is automated text analysis, and such conversations are processed and stored like any other. The app is not a medical or counseling service. In an emergency, contact your local emergency number, or in the US call or text 988.
The app involves emotionally intimate conversation and is not suitable for users under 18.
